Our humble beginnings...
Kelly Rockquemore, a native of Tampa, is the founder of New Identities Hair Studios, and resides in Tampa, Florida with husband Marc and son Dax. Kelly, who has been a salon owner & hair designer for more than 20 years, is widely recognized as one of the industry’s top authorities on advanced hair color and hi-lighting techniques. Marc Rockquemore is a native of Jackson, Michigan and relocated to Tampa, Florida in 1989. Marc is a graduate of the University of South Florida (B.S. in Business Administration), an avid musician, and formerly a Financial Consultant with Merrill Lynch of Tampa.
New Identities Hair Studios originally opened in 1994 on Fowler Avenue in Tampa, in a quaint 600 square foot location with only 4 employees, and maintained an active client base of about 500 clients. Upon retirement of Kelly’s former business partner, the Rockquemore's planned a strategic move, and re-located the salon to the up-scale, trendier, & rapidly growing New Tampa area.
That was then, this is now...
New Identities Hair Studios of Tampa Palms is state-of-the-art facility that offers the vibrant New Tampa community a superior level of service in an unparalleled eclectic atmosphere that appeals to the senses. Despite its very humble beginnings, this living success story now employees some 25 employees, and has welcomed more than 30,000 area residents through its doors! New Identities Hair Studios has maintained Redken Ambassador Elite Alliance status, which ranks New Identities Hair Studios in the top 75 Salon’s in the state of Florida – out of more than 8,000!* (*Based on overall Redken Sales)

• New Identities Hair Studios has appeared on FOX Television's Reality Show "Ambush Makeover", TLC's (The Learning Channel) Reality Show "A Wedding Story ", and was featured in The NFL Network documentary "Making The Squad...The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Cheerleaders"
• New Identities Hair Studios has been featured in Salon Today Magazine, and American Salon Magazine
• New Identities Hair Studio was a 2005 Small Business of the Year in Tampa, FL
• New Identities Hair Studios host (2) annual charity events, benefiting Tampa-based woman's crisis centers: The Spring of Tampa Bay (www.thespring.org), and Alpha House of Tampa (www.alphahouseoftampa.org). In addition, New Identities Hair Studios participates regularly in the Locks-Of-Love (www.locksoflove.org) program; that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children under age 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis
• New Identities Hair Studios proudly serves as Florida's "hair-studio business model" for KRS Consulting Group (Minneapolis, MN); the largest Salon & Spa consulting firm in the beauty industry.
On November 16th, 2008, New Identities Hair Studios proudly opened its second location in the Apollo Beach / Riverview area of Tampa Bay. New Identities Hair Studios - South Shore is located at the intersection of Big Bend Road US Hwy 301,in heart of what is commonly referred to as the "South Shore" district of Tampa Bay.
